“I am astounded at not only the quality but also how delicious the Sunday Lunch we had here today was. Huge compliments to the chef. The flavours were impeccable, nothing can be faulted, everything cooked to perfection. I can’t believe what I just ate! I didn’t want the eating session to end. Highly recommend!”

BBQ Collab with Dave The Baker

BBQ at the taproom

The second summer BBQ collab by Lightnin' Hot Things is launching at Orbit Beers Taproom on Saturday 14th May, and you don’t want to miss it!

Featuring:

• A mind-melting BBQ menu from Martin (@Lightninghotthings) with bread cooked over the fire from Dave the Baker (@thebreaducator).

• Appetiser and a free beer included in the ticket price.

• Impeccable vibes throughout

Martin (LHT) and Dave have worked together in so many different formats over so many years, mostly out of the back of vans, in fields, large tents and over fire pits.

Dave the Baker (@thebreaducator) is currently Head Baker at @pumpstbakery and is co-writing a book called 'Backyard Baking' with @djbbq and @tbone_chops (out next year via Quadrille).

They'll be using produce from Dave's Suffolk allotment (plot 7B) along with coals and wood from @whittleandflamecharcoal and meat as always from the amazing @swaledalebutchers to put on a feast of biblical proportions.

19th May - The Pigeon

Orbit Beers and Anspach & Hobday Collaboration Launch Party.

The Pigeon Camberwell

We have collaborated with Anspach and Hobday to brew an 1861 Running Porter. It's a traditional style Porter at 5.3% with rich toasted malt flavours. We've brewed it for the upcoming festival 'The Society for The Preservation of Beers from the Wood' which celebrates traditional beer styles served from wooden barrels. To honour this, we'll have a wooden cask on the bar for the night so you can taste the beer how it was meant to be served!

Join us at The Pigeon, Camberwell to sample this limited edition beer.

The Pigeon, 41 Camberwell Church St, London SE5 8TR

Tuesday 24th May - Hakata Ramen

Meet the Brewer - Hakata Pale Launch & Food Pairing Menu

Hakata Ramen

To celebrate the relaunch of our delicious Hakata Pale, we're hosting a 'Meet the Brewer' with Head Brewer Paul at Hakata Ramen.

The Hakata Pale was tailor-made for their Japanese inspired menu and has a rich complexity that complements their dishes perfectly.

Lemon peel and lemon verbena on the nose, with more citrus flavours of coconut, lemongrass, & coriander on the palate, create a drinkable pale ale, with a refreshingly dry finish.

We used a pale English malt base, with the addition of some wheat malt to give a full and silky mouthfeel and to compliment wheat-based ramen noodles. Fermented with a specific yeast strain chosen to add subtle 'red apple' flavours, the beer has a distinctive, unique characteristic from Sorachi Ace, a hop variety developed in Japan in the 1970s.

If you can't come along to the tasting night. We definitely recommend going along for dinner and asking the Hakata team for the perfect food pairings.

25th - 28th May - The Turk’s Head, St Margarets, Twickenham.

Wood Fest 2022

We have collaborated with Anspach and Hobday to brew an 1861 Running Porter for Wood Fest 2022.
